Today we commemorated #InternationalWomensDay2024 at Masafu Town Council Grounds with Hon.Nekesa Barbara Oundo, the National Resistance Movement - NRM Party Treasurer who graced the occasion as the guest of honour.
BUSIME SUB COUNTY ADMINISTRATION BUILDING COMMISSIONED AMIDST ULULATIONS AND EXCITEMENT

On the 22nd March 2024, Busime headquarters were filled with ululations and excitement as the Administration block was commissioned. The RDC, Kibwika Michael commissioned the block at a colourful ceremony organised by Busime Sub County Administration .
MELAC AGRI PROJECT PASSES OUT 19 FARMERS IN FIFTH COHORT

Today we were part of the celebration of farmers in Busitema as MELAC Agri Project passed out 19 farmers of Habuleke Parish who have been trained in financial literacy, productivity and modern agronomy skills. The skills are intended to enable them improve nutrition and food security in their homes as envisioned by the project.
While giving remarks, Lakitari Louis the Director of the Project encouraged the farmers to engage in SACCOs , save and transform their households into the money economy as desired by government of Uganda under the Parish Development Model approach.
MELAC AGRIC PROJECT HOLDS THE FOURTH FARMERS’ GRADUATION

Today 15th August 2023 MELAC Agri Project held the 4th graduation of farmers in Chawo parish in Busitema Sub County. The farmers have been trained in best agronomic farming practices. At the graduation the organisation gave each of the trained farmers a startup of good seed variety of soybean and maize besides awarding of certificates .
MINISTRY OF LOCAL GOVERNMENT HANDS OVER BUSIA MUNICIPALITY 3000 TONNE CAPACITY VALUE ADDITION PLANT

The Ministry of Local Government yesterday 14th July 2023, handed over the 3000 TONNE capacity value addition plant to RWAHI Investment Limited for utilization. The plant was constructed at cost of 15billion Shillings with support from Africa Development Bank (ADB) and Government of Uganda with an aim of improving Agricultural trade in the region. The handover ceremony presided over the handover, Benjamin Kumumanya PS MoLG at the PLA site in Busia Municipality where he cautioned RWAHI to abide by the existing provided framework and ensure that local content is given priority.
BUSIA LEADERSHIP PRAISED FOR HOSTING THE 27TH ANNUAL MEETING

On the 25-26Th May 2023, Busia District hosted the 27th Uganda Local Government Association, ULGA annual general meeting at Masafu in Golden Gardens.
The meeting that was that was attended by several local government leaders across the country was opened by Hon. Victoria Rusoke Busingye, State Minister for Local Government Ministry of Local Government on 25th May 2023, a day before the main meeting.

Busia District Local Government Council has today, 30th May 2023, passed a budget estimate of 41,381,631,000 for the upcoming 2023/24 Financial year.
The budget was approved in a council session presided over by Malowa Charles Kudedi the District speaker.
NATIONAL RESISTANCE ARMY/MOVEMENT 37TH VICTORY DAY CELEBRATIONS

Rt.Hon.Robinah Nabbanja on 11th March 2023 graced Busia District belated 37Th #NRA #LiberationDay celebrations at Bukwekwe P/S under the theme: “Our Resolute Effort To Transform Uganda is a Promise We Shall Fulfill”; Seek Justice From Tyrannical Governments Not With Your Hat In Your Hands But With A Rifle In Your Fist”.
The function gave platform for the CAO, Mr. Mukiibi Nasser to recount the tremendous achievements made by the NRM government in the various sectors of district since 1997 when the district was formed.
BUSIA LAUNCHES DISBURSEMENT OF PDM REVOLVING FUND

On the 4Th April 2023, Busia Launched the long awaited disbursement of PDM funds to individual accounts.It was colourful function,as the RDC disbursement of PDM funds to individual accounts.
The function started from Centenary Bank where the RDC, Kibwika Michael credited the account of Beatrice Nafula and then proceeded to Masafu town council.
