BUSIA DISTRICT BUDGET ESTIMATES LAID BEFORE COUNCIL

As we tend towards the climax of the budgeting cycle, Council convened for business today 28th March 2024 at Chango Macho Hall to handle a number of items on the agenda as mandated.

In the business council;Passed a motion to change location of mini piped water supply scheme from Dakha B to Buhanga village, received work plans, recruitement plan, Revenue enhancement plan and procurement plan for the FY2024/2025.

Supplementary budget of 3million as additional funds from National Women Council towards women's Day celebration were passed and as well, District budget estimates were laid before council by the Secretary of Finance for FY2024/25 amounting to 49,876,990,000. These were received and referred to committees for scrutiny by the Speaker.
Council was able to approve Pade Luke Laughers (from Busitema) as secretary for Education, Health and Community based services while the District Vice Chairperson was assigned additional duties of Gender and Children affairs as proposed by the District Chairperson.
