Today, we held a review and evaluation meeting for the Edu-Farm Project, proudly funded by the MTN Foundation. The meeting provided an important opportunity to reflect on the progress made so far, gather findings on how beneficiaries have benefited from the project, document key lessons, and assess how well the participating schools are positioned to sustain the initiative beyond the 6-month implementation period.
The Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), Lubuuka David, recently presided over a significant handover ceremony at the district headquarters, where four sets of ICT equipment were officially distributed to four newly established town councils. The equipment-which included computers, printers, and UPS units—was handed over to the Acting Town Clerks of Lumino-Majanji, Tiira, Namungodi, and Masafu Town Councils.
On the 30th October, 2025, Mwidu Sharif,Assistant RDC launched five projects of construction of 2classroom blocks and supply of furniture in Primary Schools of Elim Namaubi (94,966,872/-),Bulecha (94,962,860/-), Bukobe (95,527,794/-), Busonga (94,890,996/-), and Sihubira (94,972,418/-) for the Financial year 2025/2026. All works have commenced on the day of the launch and will be completed in 6 months. While launching the projects, he cautioned all contractors on shoddy works and encouraged them to stick to the set government standards provided for in the bills of quantities approved.
176 Local Government leaders across the country have received brand new vehicles worth UGX 35.2 billion as fulfillment of the presidential pledge. The initiative is aimed at strengthening governance in local governments.
The vehicles were handed over at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds to 135 District Chairpersons, 10 City Mayors, and 31 Municipal Leaders yesterday.

Today, Evidence Action engaged District stakeholders on Safe Water Now Program annual District review meeting and joint monitoring where district stakeholders participated in a field visit to get a clear understanding of in-Line chlorination processes in improving water quality. The project has established 1433 Chlorine dispensers across the district reaching 38,026 children with safe water, 45,586 households and 261,665 people.

Council today passed District budget estimates for Financial Year 2025/2026 totaling UGX 55,437,251,000 during Council business. The estimates that were read by Secretary of Finance, Peter Nakeri and will cover wage; 29,474,414,000, non wage recurrent; 20,224,738,000 and Development; 5,738,100,000.
Today,we commemorated International women’s day at Madibira Primary School. The event was presided over by the State Minister for Fisheries and Aquatic Resources , Hon. Adoa Hellen Woman Mp Serere District.
She echoed the day’s them; “Accelerating Action For Gender Equality” calling on women and men to embrace gender equality without abusing it.
Presiding over her role, she commissioned Busia Crossborder Women hybrid Agro processing facility and launched Busia District Women Council Sacco that she pledged to boost with seed capital of 5 million Uganda shillings.
