UPTO 48 MILLION SHILLINGS OF YOUTH LIVELIHOOD PROJECT- YLP FUNDS DISBURSED TO TEN YOUTH GROUPS IN BUSIA DISTRICT

Today we have disbursement upto 48 million shillings under Youth Livelihood Project (YLP) to ten youth groups across the district following finalization of signing all the required paperwork at the District. The group leaders were engaged by the District Community Development Officer, OKumu Semu on financial literacy and cautioned on putting the funds into the right use.
The ten groups include:
1. Kamu- Kamu Youth Piggery group.
2. Obwicha Buhira Ehonge
3. Angarama Young Women Piggery Group
4. Sibarara South Youth Group

EMMANUEL OBBO, ARCHBISHOP OF TORORO ARCHDIOCESE LAUNCHES DIGITAL X-RAY AT ST. XAVIER DABANI HOSPITAL

On Friday 16th August residents of Dabani Sub Conty could not resist the joy and excitement when the Archbishop of Tororo ArchDiocese, Emmanuel Obbo launched Digital X-ray at St.Francis Xavier Dabani Hospital following the installation of a Digital X-ray Machine at the facility in partnership with Joint Medical Stores(JMS).
The launch was scheduled having fully installed 100kv generator and a transformer to provide 3 phase power to the facility that would sustain full time operations to run.

MELAC AGRI PROJECT HOLDS ITS 6TH GRADUATION

MELAC Agri Project today held it’s 6th graduation of farmers since Inception in Busitema.The organisation trains community members in agronomy with an aim of creating self sustainability and productivity through training farmers in modernised agriculture, introduction of improved seed variety, food security and nutrition.
The function was presided over by the Deputy RDC, Grace Kanuna who commended the Organisation for transforming communities in Busitema by using an approach that is compatible with Parish Development Model.

As the Financial Year 2023/24 comes to close, Deputy RDC, Grace Kanuna took of his time to commission completed projects under Education.
The activity commenced earlier in the day of 5th June 2024 leading a team of technocrats, security personnel and political leaders from the District to respective areas where projects have been completed as listed;
1. Construction of 2 classroom block at Bulobi P/S by Nas Contractors Ltd
2. Renovation of 2 classroom block at Buduli P/S by Markunder Holdings limited

MINISTER OF STATE FOR FOREIGN AFFAIRS REGIONAL COOPERATION, HON.MULIMBA JOHN CONVENES A DISTRICT SECURITY STAKEHOLDERS’ MEETING

The State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Regional Cooperation, Hon. John Mulimba convened a meeting at Chango Macho Hall on Friday 5th April 2024 with the objective of having a way forward on the insecurity of Busia following the continuous fire outbreaks, theft, raids, exploitation by money lenders, domestic violence etc ...
It was attended by stakeholders from the entire district including MP Samia Bugwe South,hon. Godfrey Odero, interest groups, security operatives from the village level to Region, bodaboda,political leaders at all levels, media and district staff.

MELAC AGRI PROJECT PASSES OUT 19 FARMERS IN FIFTH COHORT

Today we were part of the celebration of farmers in Busitema as MELAC Agri Project passed out 19 farmers of Habuleke Parish who have been trained in financial literacy, productivity and modern agronomy skills. The skills are intended to enable them improve nutrition and food security in their homes as envisioned by the project.
While giving remarks, Lakitari Louis the Director of the Project encouraged the farmers to engage in SACCOs , save and transform their households into the money economy as desired by government of Uganda under the Parish Development Model approach.
