BUSIA CHILD AND FAMILY PROTECTION UNIT RECEIVES MATTRESSES AND BLANKETS FOR RESCUED CHILDREN

Our partner Somero Uganda has today supported Busia Uganda Police Force Child and family Protection Unit with mattresses and blankets to supplement on the available rest facilities so as to have a safe, child friendly environment for the rescued children before transition or resettlement.
ASP Nali Hajira, the in Charge Child and Family Protection Unit (CFPU) at Busia central police expressed gratitude for the support of 15 mattresses and five blankets received and requested partners to have consideration of supporting the unit to have a special shelter for the children since the current one lacked privacy for the children.
Busia CFPU continues to receive big numbers of rescued children given its border location and therefore the competition for shelter, clothing and food poses a big challenge challenge to the unit.
